There are only 50 days until Southwest University Park opens its gates for Opening Day 2016 and the El Paso Chihuahuas are getting ready to bring you another season of fun! The 2016 promotions schedule is jam-packed with so much entertainment that you will want to be at every game!
Coming to a desk near you is the “bobblehair” of Chihuahuas on-field emcee and funnyman, Andy Imfeld on May 9th presented by GECU. This bobblehead giveaway will have synthetic hair to pay tribute to his glorious hairdo.
The Chihuahuas will be honoring the power-hitting, social media saavy, prankster and anti-hero Cody Decker with a bobblehead giveaway presented by Southwest University on Wednesday, June 15th.
Also on the giveaway docket is a soccer-style scarf (June 2nd), fleece blanket presented by Sarah Farms (July 14th) and lucha libre mask (August 10th).
Making another encore appearance, The Famous San Diego Chicken is returning to El Paso on Wednesday, August 3rd. The ZOOperstars! are back! The comical animalistic mascot crew of Cow Ripken, Jr., Clammy Sosa, Harry Canary, Ken Giraffey, Jr. and more will be back to heckle umpires and put on crazy acts on Friday, June 24th.
Making his Chihuahuas debut on Wednesday, July 20th is the Dallas Cowboys’ mascot, Rowdy! Rowdy will be available for pictures, autographs and will be highlighted in several different in-game promotions centered around “America’s Team”.
Notable theme nights include rocking out at KISS Night on May 21st with Minor League Baseball’s first-ever KISS jersey, US Army’s Birthday Celebration presented by GECU on June 14th and a Tribute to Fluffy, Gabriel Iglesias, on August 31st.
The El Paso Chihuahuas are excited to announce the newest addition to its Day of the Week lineup: T-Shirt Tuesday presented by GECU & Team 600 ESPN El Paso to join Day of the Week staples like Thrifty Thursday and Fireworks Spectacular Saturday.
T-shirts will be given away on eight Tuesdays to the first 2,000 fans in attendance with paid admission. Baseball in Education Days on May 3rd and May 17th will not be considered T-Shirt Tuesdays. Previously on Tuesdays, Seniors Eat Free will now be featured on Wednesdays.
Kids Eat Free moves from Wednesday to Sunday and will be an exclusive benefit to members of Chico’s Kids Club presented by Southwest Dairy Farmers. Sundaywill offer an exclusive experience to Kids Club members like pregame catch on the field, Chico’s Birthday Celebration, early entry to watch batting practice and more! Individual tickets for the 2016 season go on sale this Saturday, February 27th, at 10:00 a.m. Also on Saturday, the Chihuahuas will be hosting a mini-Fan Fest including inflatables and the opportunity to get your picture taken with Chico! Fans can purchase individual tickets online at EPChihuahuas.com starting at 12:00 p.m. Fans who purchase in advance will save $2-$3 per ticket, per purchase.
The Chihuahuas open their home season on Friday, April 15th at 7:05 p.m. against the Reno Aces (Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks) as the start of an eight game home stand, including four giveaways.

T-SHIRT TUESDAY | presented by GECU & Team 600 ESPN El Paso – The first 2,000 fans in attendance with paid attendance will receive a Chihuahuas t-shirt. Excluding May 3rd and May 17th.
SENIORS EAT FREE WEDNESDAY | presented by CBS 4, 92.3 The Fox, Jose & El Paso Plus – Seniors (ages 60+) receive one meal voucher for a Jumbo Hotdog Meal.
THRIFTY THURSDAY | presented by KFOX, KLAQ, What’s Up & Univision – $2 12 ounce domestic drafts, $2 20 ounce Pepsi fountain drinks, $2 value size popcorn, and $2 value size Chihua’rrrines. Specials are available until 2.5 hours after gates open.
FETCH THE FUN FRIDAY | presented by KTSM & HOT 93.5 – A fun night of baseball, family and fun featuring the Mystery Box Promotion when one lucky fan will get the chance to win a Chihuahuas jersey.
